Even though Champagne’ (Garrett to others) is not an official member yet, nor has he earned his official man'card, I felt a "Yee-Ha" was in order for his recent accomplishments. The only thing BC worthy of this post is the fact that it happened down by Clute, Tx. Just being there gives it enough ‘Bubba’ to be posted here.

Champagne’, participated in his first track meet last night and was able to secure 1st place in both the triple-jump (funniest dang thing I ever saw a 7th grader do) and one of his relays. For the life of me I want to say it was the 4x200 but I’m not sure that’s even a real race. Never was one for track meets, but watching him jump was definitely worth the trip. We knew those long legs would be good for something.
The Corndog got some good pictures of him running and when she gets around to down-loading them I will come back and post.

Great job Champagne’!

I'll sing the Champagne' song tonight in his honor. If he works hard at climbing the "dude chain," he may earn himself a man card yet.

ARTIST'S CORNER

Even though the late Gracie Fulton was not orignially from the Lone Star State, she was truly a Texan at heart. She told me more times than I can remember, "You Texans are so like Rhodesian farmers. We are all brothers and sisters." While we will miss her very badly, I'm thankful she was able to finish her wonderful book.

These musicians all have roots back to good ol' Santa Fe, TX.
