Uh, yeah, you read correctly. This video is really short, but look carefully. I don't know what podunk Texas town this came out of, but, well, whatever. And what's up with that sound it's making?

First, the flood last weekend. For those of you who don't understand the expression, "Lord willin' and the crick don't rise," here's a photo of the neighbor's house after an honest-to-God Texas flash-flood:

For the sake of comparison, here's the same house during last year's snow. Notice…

As Posted 5.15.07:
It was bound to happen sooner or later—Captain Baitfinger is back at the RV park.
A weekend or two ago, he was hitchhiking down I-10 around Sealy, with a fishing pole on his shoulder and a Bible under his arm. As luck would have it, Miss Edna—who never passes up the chance to nab herself a “conversatin’ buddy”—just happened to be on her way home after two straight months on the road, and picked him up. Neither one of them recognized each other, so Miss Edna asked t…

Independence, Texas is a stone's throw from our place out in Brenham, and we spent quite a bit of time hanging out there over spring break (especially at the
Lueckemeyer General Store). Here are a couple of the photos we took:

Even though Champagne’ (Garrett to others) is not an official member yet, nor has he earned his official man'card, I felt a "Yee-Ha" was in order for his recent accomplishments. The only thing BC worthy of this post is the fact that it happened down by Clute, Tx. Just being there gives it enough ‘Bubba’ to be posted here.
Champagne’, participated in his first track meet last night and was able to secure 1st place in both the triple-jump (funniest dang thing I ever saw a 7th grader do) and one o…

The fam and I were eating over at Neptune Subs in Seabrook on Saturday and our friend Vinnie gave us permission to post the "Bald Monday" flyer here at the coast. He has a great deal for all of our follice-challenged friends. Every Monday, "The more you shine, the cheaper you dine!" Outstanding, and well deserving of a Bubba Coast salute!
By the way, DEFINITELY don't avoid the place if you've got a good head of hair! This is a great mom and pop operation with great food, and these guys were bac…

Here's a classic from Valentine's Day 2007. Enjoy!
A few weeks ago, Jimmy Jack Possum started writing a Valentine’s Day poem to try to woo back Earline:
I seen thee workin’ in the store
And knew thy ain’t no whore.
A vision’s what I seen
Whoz nametag sez Earline.
You look like a angel
Makin’ my heart tangle
Up like fishin’ line.
That’s all he had come up with when he showed it to Lonnie Pickins and Johnny Gafftop, after they’d knocked back a couple cases of Keystone one Wednesday ni…

We took the Chum Squad fishing this weekend, but since we were after CATfish, I thought I'd take the opportunity to give PETA's new "
sea kitten" term a try whilst describing the festivities.
In the interest of full-disclosure, "fishing" might be stretching the truth a bit. We were actually down at the city pool for the annual "Fishing Extravaganza," where hundreds of sea kittens are released for the hunting pleasure of the children. It was…

Gotta give a big ol' Bubba Coast Salute to Sartan's of Nassau Bay, Texas.

For those of you who don't have your glasses or your kids around to read this, the sign reads, "Sartin's of Nassau Bay: Giving Texans crabs since 1971."
Classic!

Bubba Coast is proud to present our Holiday Classic "New Year's Ding-a-Ling," orignially posted back in January of '08 and featuring the cast from that little RV park by the sea. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
L.C. Owens and Tina Possum finally shacked up together, just in time for his ex-wife to drop off their three kids for the holiday break. Tina raised holy hell at first, but she backed off a little when L.C. pointed out that his oldest boy, Junior, was "damn near twelve," so…

Well, we were at the beach this weekend, less than a week-and-a-half after the snow, and just five days before Christmas (and we never left Texas). Here are the highlights of the trip:
First, the pelicans...

The trouble started when some of the locals picked up on Bria's fishin…

As the Bubba Coast Chief Meteorologist, I pride myself on bringing you the latest-breaking weather developments on the coast. And as you've probably noticed by the time stamp, I've stayed up way past my bedtime to get this story out while it's hot (er, I mean "cold"). You won't believe yo…

Well, it's not a circus so much as it is a carnival. Here are some photos/videos of the girls.

What a morning at the
Bay Area Raceway! The Gafftops, Baitfingers, and Tunas got together for a little friendly competition and birthday celebration. There are a lot of happy faces in the pictures, but things got ugly when we broke out the SuperKart, as you'll see in these
video clips (WARNING! These videos contain graphic images and strong language).

It's been over a month since Ike blew through, and we finally made it down to the island to see some of the damage. Here's a short recap of some of what we saw.
Coming in on I-45, there are still quite a few boats in the median and along the shoulder. We got a picture of this one (actually on our way out), where someone had hung a "Freddie Poor for Sheriff" sign.
